2026 divisions listed below. 

The Snow Bowl flag football tournament is played over three days, with teams split up by their appropriate divisions. Teams are allowed up to 15 players; all players on game day must be 18 or older. Each team is guaranteed three games played on the field at Rutgers University SHI Stadium. Food is provided for all players.

Prior to registering your team, please read the division information below to ensure you register your team for the appropriate division. We want to ensure everyone enjoys themselves, so we try to set up the tournament schedule with teams playing against similarly skilled teams.

If a division is labeled FULL, then it currently has enough teams, but you can still contact us at NJSnowBowl@sonj.org to find out what options exist.

Friday Divisions

  • Law Enforcement/Firefighters Friday Recreation Division – Players must be current or retired LE/Firefighters who play semi-regularly or have limited organized football experience. They may have recently come together for this event and just want to have fun. This division consists of players with mixed playing skills.
  • Law Enforcement/Firefighters Friday Competitive Division – Players must be current or retired LE/Firefighters who play together regularly, looking for a challenge and/or may be a part of a flag football league.
  • Law Enforcement/Firefighters Friday Night Recreation Division – Players must be current or retired LE/Firefighters who play semi-regularly or have limited organized football experience. They may have recently come together for this event and just want to have fun. This division consists of players with mixed playing skills. This division will take place at night.
  • Please note: LE/FF players will be asked to show a valid work ID at check-in to confirm they belong in this division.

Saturday Divisions

  • Saturday Recreation Division – Players who play semi-regularly or have limited organized football experience. They may have recently come together for this event and just want to have fun!
    • Please note that due to this Division’s popularity & diverse skill level, it may be broken into two divisions at the time of scheduling with two separate Championship games. Some teams will start in the morning and some in the afternoon. Teams must be prepared to play in either an AM or PM slot.
  • Saturday Competitive Division – Teams who play together regularly, looking for a challenge and/or may be a part of a flag football league.
  • Saturday 40 & Older Division – (All players must be at least age 40 or older by 12/31/2025.) Players who play semi-regularly or have limited organized football experience. May have recently come together for this event and just want to have fun!

Sunday Divisions

  • Co-Ed Division – Teams who play together semi-regularly, or have limited organized football experience. May have recently come together for this event and just want to have fun! The roster must be comprised of at least four females. Teams must play with at least three females on the field at all times.
    • Please note that due to this Division’s popularity & diverse skill level, it may be broken into two divisions at the time of scheduling with two separate Championship games. Some teams will start in the morning and some in the afternoon. Teams must be prepared to play in either an AM or PM slot.
  • Sunday Recreation Division – Players who play semi-regularly or have limited organized football experience. They may have recently come together for this event and just want to have fun!
  • Backyard Flaggers Division NEW this year! – First timers and casual, recreational players (we play once a year with family or friends!) who want to have fun and support Special Olympics New Jersey in this exciting event! This division is meant for those who are not competitive and looking for a more light-hearted, easy play experience.
